The New E-Card System
One of the most exciting changes on campus this year has been the new student e-card system. This new system is faster, easier to use, more reliable, and it can do so much more than the old system. Plus, we were able to purchase lots of new hardware to go with this new e-card system. For example...

Now the Dining Commons has a full touch-screen register, eliminating traffic problems at the entrance, and allowing customers to get in quicker so they can enjoy themselves in the DC instead of waiting in line.

Perhaps even more exciting is the new register right at the Jammin Java counter. Now, Customers can order and pick up drinks right at the Jammin Java, without going to the Eagle's Nest.

We have a new remote printer for the Breezeway Grill which will allow orders to go from the register, straight to the cooks, shortening customer wait times and increasing the accuracy of orders. The new remote printer is scheduled to be installed for the Spring semester.

The greatest aspect of this new system is its incredible capacity for expansion. This system could let students use their e-cards in places that were impossible with the old system, such as laundry and vending machines.
Extended Hours at the Breezeway
Starting this fall, the Breezeway will be open again on Friday Nights! Friday Nights at the Breezeway will be a great time with new specials and discounts. Plus, Friday Nights will see the return of an old-school Breezeway favorite - the Breezeway Brunch. Included on the menu is the Breezeway Bargain which is the best deal you'll find in the area.
New Televisions at the Breezeway
The Breezeway Grill has always been a great place to watch sports and prime time TV. Unfortunately, at the end of the spring semester, the beloved large screen TV stopped working. It is being replaced this year with THREE new televisions. The first, a brand new 52" HDTV-ready rear-projection model will be installed before opening day. The second and third will be 25" wall-mounted units that will be available sometime in the future.
New Dishwasher
While customers may not notice the new dishwasher, they have noticed how much cleaner the dishes are. Our employees have noticed how much more efficient our brand new state-of-the-art dishwashing system is. The old machine was completely torn out, as well as the walls and flooring surrounding it, and replaced from scratch. The new floor has multiple coatings to prevent leaking and ensure proper drainage. The new dishwasher is more than twice as fast as the old one, and has double to water jets to clean dishes. New drains at the beginning and end of the dishwasher prevent splash-back and clogging. The new dishwasher takes only a minute to set up, with the push of one button.
Eagle Dollars
Eagle Dollars are bonus dollars on most student's e-cards that can be used at any Sodexho location at Eastern University. Some Eagle Dollars come with meal plans, and other Eagle Dollars are added individually to student's e-cards. Eagle Dollars are a great way to save money, while allowing the customer to choose when and where to eat.
Eagle Dollars have had a number of technical names through the years. Under the old e-card system, the technical term for Eagle Dollars was DCB dollars, (Declining Credit Balance). Under the new e-card system, the technical term for Eagle Dollars will be SVP (Stored Value Points). SVP-1 comes with a resident student's meal plan, SVP-2 is purchased separately, or with a commuter meal plan. However, the change in technical names will not affect customers in any way. Eagle Dollars held under the old DCB system will transfer and become Eagle Dollars with the new SVP system. The amount of bonus points earned will remain the same, and all points earned will transfer to the new system.
